Covid-19 has again become a figure in football. This time it was the turn of FIFA President Gianni Infantino who was positive for the corona virus.
Citing a written statement from FIFA that Gianni Infantino is experiencing mild symptoms and undergoing self-quarantine for at least 10 days.
For this reason, all individuals who had contact with him in the last few days have been informed and asked to undergo the protocol.
Infantino began his football administration career with UEFA in August 2000, culminating in the post of Secretary General of the organization in 2009.
In the duration of his work there, UEFA introduced financial fair play and provided more support to small countries.
Infantino also encouraged the expansion of European Cup participants to 24 teams starting from the 2016 edition and was involved in the initial idea of creating the UEFA Nations League.
From this position, Infantino participated in the 2016 FIFA President's candidacy and won the most votes. He was victorious again in the next election in 2019 and served for up to four years.
